We took a Na Pali Coast cruise and were blown away by the quality of the experience and the variety of things we saw in such a short time.
For starters, the crew was amazing: Captain Elias kept us entertained and informed, Jayce kept us safe and well-fed, Josiah led our snorkeling adventures and Nayah provided exceptional hospitality, even making sure anyone who felt seasick had access to all the remedies. It’s like she had a sixth sense of who was starting to feel ill, and was at their elbow with a cure right away - amazing!
As for the cruise itself: breakfast was decadent, warm cinnamon rolls and fresh fruit, served with hot or cold drinks. Lunch was pulled pork or chicken salad sandwiches, served with chips. Juice and hot drinks were available at all times. The bar opened up around lunch time, serving a selection of Maui beer and cocktails.
For the first stop, we pulled on snorkel gear (provided) and slipped into the ocean. We swam around a reef for about 30 minutes and got to see a ton of tropical fish.
Next we headed up the coast, and saw a ton of wildlife: humpbacks in a heat run, chasing a female; spinner dolphins splashing playfully and even a hammerhead shark darting around.
We saw so many features of the stunning Na Pali Coast up-close, including waterfalls, sea caves and a valley featured in the Jurassic Park movies. The sights were incredible, and the historic and cultural context provided by our captain made it all incredibly memorable.
Let me put it this way: I have a sensitive stomach, I was seasick half the time, and I still rate this experience 5/5 - it really was that good. - via
