Just finished 5 days’ diving with Fundivers. They have been fantastic! I have 35 years of diving experience and have dived all over the world, 12 years ago I dived in Zanzibar with another PADI gold star dive centre in Nungwi, and TBH I much preferred my dives this time with Fundivers.
I found both the DM, Shuri and the dive instructor who was on our boat taking a student for an open water course, to be first class. Patient, knowledgeable and attentive. Everyone was friendly and super helpful.
The equipment I used was of very good quality, much of it was new and certainly not the disaster as a previous reviewer has stated! It is also included in the price of the dive, not an additional cost that other dive centres in Nungwi charge!
Each of the 5 days we had boats with shade and cover. I was very glad not to be on a RIB used by another 5 star dive centre in Nungwi, when we dived Mnemba. They were stuck on a RIB with no shade as we were out of the sun on our shaded speedboat drinking water and eating fresh fruit provided by Fundivers.
The diving itself is exceptional. Whilst trips to Mnemba are very pretty with great viz, some of the best diving was much closer to the centre, with frog fish, scorpion leaf fish, octopus and even ghost pipe fish. The beauty of Fundivers is they are local and their DMs really know these reefs well. - via
