I was in Tioman as a last minute arrangement without realizing that the weekend coincided with Malaysia's school holiday. Tried calling few Dive Centre to book for a leaisure dives during my stay but all of them unable to accomodate (although for just 1 pax) due to the busy weekend. End up boarding the boat to Tioman without any dive plan and thinking to just spending time on the beach and swimming. Luckily, on the night of arrival 1 of the DC I called earlier informed that this Island Message DC can accomodate 1 pax boat dives on the following day. I gave them a call and Jemy was the person answering and gladly granted my wish.
On the following morning Jemy (a DM in early 50s) was at the DC greeted me and proceeded with the standard registration process and equipment check. There were 3 of us for the morning dives; another chap who was also on last minute arrangement and another girl who taking AOWD course. Supprisingly his DC was not busy whilst all other DCs on the island were fully booked. Maybe due to the negative review given by one of the reviewer here (in fact me too initally though the same but proceeded as I have no other choiice)..
However, to me everything are excellent,. The equipments were new and dive boat was superbly clean and well maintained. Jemy himself is very friendly and accomodating. We went for a dive spots that not crowded and all the necessary briefing and buddy check were done accordingly. Really enjoyed the dives as the locations were superb. No others divers around and visibility is superbly clear considering of the heavy rain nite before. Definitely Jemy knew the best spots due to his 15 years as DM in Tioman. After dives, we went for a drinks to a nearby stall and chit-chat until noon.
I definitely will dive with them again whenever I visit Tioman in the future. - via
