My partner and I had an amazing stay at Arkipelago Divers & Beach Resort! We chose to do our Rescue Diver certifications in Puerto Galera and were definitely happy we chose Arkipelago. The team makes you feel welcome even before you get to the Philippines. The rooms at the resort are well appointed, the WiFi is great and the food in the restaurant is delicious! The view was also top notch, and I really liked that the resort was removed from the busiest area of Puerto Galera.
The team paired divers together by experience levels and listened to where the divers wanted to dive and what they wanted to see. The Divemasters/Instructors were impeccable and always upbeat. They were very safety conscious. The boat guys all knew our names and how each diver preferred to get in and out of the water. They also knew who was going to be cold after a dive and therefore needed a dry towel.
The diving was amazing, too! There was always the opportunity to do 4 dives a day, if you wanted to. And night dives (definitely recommended) were regularly scheduled. In addition to the normal reef sites, we were also able to explore the muck sites nearby and even go to one of the deep sites to look for thresher sharks (luck wasn't on our side, though).
Overall, I would happily recommend Arkipelago to all my diving friends. And, my partner and I have even been talking about going back to do our Divemaster certifications. If you want to book a dive holiday in Puerto Galera, do yourself a favor and book with Arkipelago Divers & Beach Resort. - via
