Shoutout to Rene, he was awesome!
Just 3 things to note:
1. I was told a pickup time, confirmed it in the morning and was told to wait down the road from my accommodation. I waited for 45 minutes in the sun on the main road - nothing. So I had to walk back to my accommodation as I don't have a sim, phone them to ask what's happening and was told just to 'keep waiting', no apology. Then after an extra 10 minutes, the bus did eventually arrive. My friend also dived the same week, he also had to phone again after waiting and had to wait for a total of 1 hour 15 minutes! (Despite having confirmed the pickup time the same morning.) So a bit disappointing.
2. So many guests touching the sharks, maybe it needs to be mentioned in the brief no touching as apparently it's not common knowledge and is very unnecessary.
3. And thirdly, I saw countless divers hitting their fins/ pretty much standing on the coral, not cool! So maybe this also needs to be made clear in the brief - control your buoyancy/ no fins touching the coral because it was sad to see, (a coral reef can take thousands of years to grow!)
For the price you're paying, you'd hope that some of this was spent going towards educating the divers that come here about conservation and how to preserve the marine environment. - via
