I can't say enough good things about this shop. The Nautical Adventures Scuba dive shop, a Certified PADI 5 Star Center, is a hidden gem on Tenkiller Lake in Cookson OK.
We are from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and none of the dive centers in the area come close to the accommodating instruction and quality of service we experienced here. It was a 4 hour drive each way for us, and worth every mile and minute of it.
Our dive instructor, Josh Fowler, was outstanding. Ours was a small class, and Josh was very hands on, working through any and all issues until we were satisfied - this guy has knowledge far beyond his years.. There was another Josh in the class that was assisting (I hope the second Josh becomes a full time fixture soon), and between the two Josh's, we completed our open water diver course, with two sessions in their very accommodating pool, and then the 5 open water dives in beautiful Lake Tenkiller. Wow - what an experience, what an adventure.
Tim Knight, owner and dive guru/sensei, really went the extra mile helping me get the basic scuba gear. Their selection of equipment is top of the line, and Tim took the time to explain features and benefits - as Tim puts it, they only sell what they dive. I got out of there with quality equipment that will surely outlast me. My new BCD is the best fit I have ever experienced - could not be more pleased.
I'm heading back there in September to get the Advanced Open Water Diver - and I can't wait.
I would recommend anyone looking to start diving, or looking for a place to dive and pick up some quality dive equipment, to give Nautical Adventures Scuba in Cookson OK a close look. I am confident you would not be in the least disappointed. - via
