I do not understand the high ratings of this company. Fake? It is the worst boat tour I’ve ever been on. From the moment we got on the boat we were overwhelmed by how crowded it was. The main floor was packed with large parties. It smelled like the zoo… The upper deck was full too, but we managed to find some seats… Coffee wasn’t ready for a while and even though they’ll tell you to stay hydrated, you can only get water from tiny little mouthwash cups and it didn’t taste good. Wish we brought our own water and towels… Soft drinks, canned water (so “woke” ) are extra… You know what’s woke? Providing bottled water to people on a boat tour! Especially if “tropical” lunch buffet is included! Tell people to bring their own water, be transparent! The worst part was the diving. What a disorganized charlie foxtrot that was! I was in diving group 3 (so you have to keep an eye on the boat while you snorkel and not miss your group). One very nice person helped me put the gear on, then it turned out that he is not my diving instructor. Nobody practiced equalizing with me before jumping in the water. I didn’t even know who is my diving instructor till I was in the water and I had to ask them because I was confused! So I’m understandably nervous going on my first dive and they are disorganized and rude. “Stand back, you’re in a different group!” Ok, I’ll stand and wait after you told me to get up with a very heavy oxygen tank… They treated me like dumb cattle. I couldn’t understand what the other diving instructor was saying in the water and she was very condescending (blond, turquoise suit). “What are trying to do, darling?!” Instead of giving me clear instructions! Then, in the water, they make you hold the instructor’s hand throughout the whole dive like it’s kindergarten. And he had a giant wart on his knuckle. (Those are contagious, it’s hpv, have it removed, you live in a civilized country and work in service industry). Dive was short and sweet with not much to see. Our dive instructor thought we should be excited we saw “Nemo.” I’ve snorkeled all over the world and expected more. Really is a sad state of affairs with The Great Barrier Reef or they don’t take tourists to good places… So not worth a 2 hour journey there and back. Food was ok, liked the beet salad. But it was not a tropical buffet. Curry, beef stew, coleslaw and beet salad do not make a tropical buffet. The tiny pieces of fudge they served in the afternoon one could only eat with dirty hands after touching the railings all day… So not a very healthy way to serve food. But they say they are concerned about covid… Probably the same way they are concerned about guests staying hydrated with those tiny little moushwash cups. Nothing but lip service. Anyway, it was very overcrowded, conveyer belt like experience. Staff was assertive, but rude, with very little f#%s given. “Get ‘em in, get ‘em out” type of service. I’m sure they’ll have a full catamaran tomorrow! A boat full of suckers is born every day! - via
