My girlfriend Dionne and I are new divers certified in Puerto Vallarta last year and after speaking with Stephanie about diving she recommended taking a refresher before our trip to make the most of the dives when with them. We were able to accomplish the refresher 3 days before arriving and our refresher instructor contacted Stephanie with Aqua TCI about our completion and skill level. Stephanie contacted me via email and also phone calls about booking a Private Instructor to dive along with the two of us for an additional fee. Dionne and I thought the additional money was well worth it in order to fully enjoy and have an added layer of support without holding up the rest of the boat.
We dove with Mauro on Tuesday and Stephanie on Thursday the individual attention, guidance, explanation, support, cheerleading and leading of our dives was priceless. Dionne was able to move at her pace entering, descending and moving throughout our dives with our personal Private Instructor. We were completely happy with their instruction of the dive computer they provided and how to prepare a new mask for diving the first time using Softscrub we purchased a new mask on the trip after discovering Dionne’s current mask was a poor fit causing it to leak slowly.
The boat was great, the gear was well cared for, the service provided by the team at Aqua TCI on the boat was very personable and the sights were incredible. Over the two days and four dives we observed reef sharks, sea turtles, octopus, eagle rays, stingray, eels, barracuda and so many other fish in the water. On Thursday we could hear whales in the distance never actually seeing them, yet hearing them was another sense altogether. The waters of West Caicos were warm and clear being able to see the sea floor 60-80 feet below upon entering the water.
We made sure to thank Bill who Captained on Thursday, Stephanie who guided us and Matt who made sure I didn’t leave without our 3 day old GoPro 11 Black I had left in the freshwater rinse cooler. Mauro on Tuesday was a great ambassador of Aqua TCI and Art who Captained Tuesday was everything you imagine a dive boat Captain to be. We made sure to have cash for our tip both days and trust me they earn all of it and more preparing the boat mornings, running us out to locations, mooring the boat, assisting the guest with gear and getting them into the water, diving with us and then doing it all in reverse. It is a long day for these crews so take care of them well before you pick up and leave.
Our time was indescribable and while this review is long it hardly captures how amazing this experience with Aqua TCI was for us. We were happy to purchase some rash guard shirts that are spf50 to as a souvenir. Thank you again for an unforgettable time on and under the water. - via
