Succcessfully completed the PADI Open Water Diver course last weekend with my daughter. What a great experience!. Everyone associated with Chicagoland Scuba was top notch. The shop is run well; Katy runs a tight ship. I purchased a new mask and used it for more than 6 hours in multiple pool sessions and 4 open water dives. Unfortunately, the mask didn’t quite fit right, but that was not a problem. Despite being a small, independent dive shop, I was able to trade my used mask for a new one and received a full credit. It is hard to believe that an independent shop provides Nordstrom type service, but they did.
Regarding the actual course, Bill H, the dive master is excellent. He goes by the book and doesn’t take any shortcuts. My daughter and I learned a great deal and Bill would not allow us to move forward until we mastered the required task. He is very knowledgeable and super safety conscious. Safety is critical in diving and we both felt completely at ease during our open water dives. Bill had a master diver for every two students. Ricky, Rich, & Matt were terrific. I highly recommend Chicagoland Scuba to anyone who wants to learn how to dive and obtain their certification. - via
