There was no communication from the tour operators. We were handed a number with no explanation, dropped at a busy, rocky boat launch with no help loading luggage (which we noticed afterwards had been damaged because they dragged it through the window to get it into and out of the crowded shuttle bus). They seemed to find everyone's discomfort and confusion amusing.
The boat driver opened all of the side flaps despite the rain so we arrived to the other side wet and cold.
Service was better on the Monteverde side. The driver helped with luggage and gave us a timeline. The roads were nothing more than dizzying packed dirt trails with potholes galore and I honestly regretted having added this destination to our trip until we got there and had a great time. - via
