I spent a lot of money and travelled a long way to get to the Maldives....and specifically to Dhangheti Island....and specifically to South Ari Dive Center -- to dive with the whale sharks, which the dive shop confirmed when I booked and provides 99% guaranteed sightings. I also highlighted this to the dive guides on my first day, but no plan was made to ever visit those sites, and on my last day I was told we didn't have time since I had to take the boat back to Male (which they knew beforehand since they booked the boat for me). They later said it was due to weather, but 2 out of the 3 days were calm seas with no wind. - via
