I stayed at Surf Sanctuary with a fairly large group of Christian Surfers and OneWorld Health Volunterrs in Nicaragua for mission work. The surf sanctuary was such a wonderful place to come back to and to eat our meals at. The food was so good and it replenished us after it early morning of Surfing and a long day of Clinic work. It really was an oasis to come back to and a short walk to Playa Santana to watch the sunset if we got back in time. They went above and beyond to make sure that every member of our team was taken care of. That's a tall order. We had families and single people and teenagers haha. They offer a very friendly and embracing environment. I went with a group but I would feel totally safe staying at the surf sanctuary as a single female. I travel a lot of places and know that I would have felt taken care of there and I would have been able to find Community there. The people that run the sanctuary and the couple that live on the property and fix amazing meals welcome you and make you feel at home. - via
