stunning location and amazing view over beautiful playa escameca. it’s a remote place perfect to getaway from it all and relax. it’s just a 15min walk to the beach, where you find a small beach shack with local food for lunch. Also there is a a local turtle reservation and you can witness the magic of baby turtles hatching at sunset if you are lucky. At Verdad the food was really good and they accommodated for my gluten-free needs (a little pricy compared to other nicaraguan accommodations and more on the heavy side, but the best Mahi-mahi!). There is an honesty bar, a beautiful clean yoga shalla with high quality mats and trx as well as kettle bell equipment to use for free. The whole team - Wesley, Tito, Marc & Co are super friendly and run a small local surf school (suitable for beginners, waves were much much smaller than at popoyo) as well. They help you organise a lot of awesome activities (Catamaran sail, fishing trip, massages etc) - just be aware that they charge extra for all these add ons and only pre breakfast is included. If you don’t have a rental scooter/car there is not much around. People here were mostly American/Canadian - i loved the family style dinners and cosy atmosphere and it’s easy to connect with fellow travelers from costa dulce down at the beach - great vibes at sunset (think bonfire, beer and guitar music). - via
