We booked a two-hour paddle on our last full day on Maui in hopes of seeing Humpback Whales up close. With Ryan as our guide we were lucky enough to see 3 or 4 different groups of whales including a baby calf that was practicing breaching. It was a gift to hear and feel these beautiful creatures as they navigated the area. Two of the lagoon's Monk Seals also came around to say hello as did a small green back turtle. This two-hour paddle was the best money we'd spent on an activity in Maui. Ryan was knowledgable, fun and incredibly respectful of the environment and the needs of the animals. Having his adorable companion Mia along for the ride rounded out an experience I will never forget. If you don't have time for a full-day excursion, I would highly recommend this two-hour paddle; the view of the West Maui mountains, the sun on your face, humpbacks, monk seals, turtles...what more do you need?
