Overall I enjoyed the experience of taking the scuba course at Aqua Dive and Watersports. Our instructor was knowledgeable, the program/course prices were reasonable, and the staff were helpful, friendly, and accommodating, and we will likely be back for gear and additional courses/etc.
I deducted a single star ONLY because I felt like the instructor was treating me a little strangely. He delivered the lessons and explained/demonstrated everything as expected, but because I wasn't at 100% that first day for various reasons, I had a little difficulty. I felt singled out by the things he said to me, and it made me a little uncomfortable. I don't think any harm or malice was intended, but it added some stress, and this definitely affected my experience of the pool sessions (we did the course material online). I would say part of it was that he and I just didn't "click" or had some fundamental misunderstanding, but I don't know.
At the end of it all I finished the lessons and did what I was supposed to do, though, so take that for what it's worth. - via
