I'm not just saying that, it truly is the best. Absolutely world class service and the kind, warm people (Ben and Susie) who run it make the experience. I did 8 dives with NDS and the only reason I didn't do more was because I unfortunately got a cold at the end of my stay in Malta.
The diving: all the dives I did were from the shore, and they were amazing. The dive center doesn't have much to do with the amount of life you see, as this is usually down to luck. I must have been lucky because we saw tons of life for the area, such as stingrays (!!!!), several octopus, tons of damsel fish, scorpion fish, silver fish, and much, much more. Ben was always super quick to point out areas of interest and other species, so I feel like I got to see a lot more than I would have seen on my own. We did 2 wrecks, the P29 and the Mauri (spelling??), and they were great! They have a home reef (or "The reef at St. Paul's Bay" ) and it's the best home reef I've been to. Most home reefs are scarce and boring but this one IS NOT. It's got great life, coral, and an amazing wall drop. I actually elected to do this dive for a 3rd time - voluntarily - because it was so cool, so if they say you are diving the home reef for a dive don't think it'll be a give-away dive; it's great.
The operators: This is where it goes from a great dive center, to the best dive center. I seriously cannot thank Ben and Susie enough for everything they did. I did my Advanced Open Water course here, and they were so patient, kind, and welcoming, it was unreal. They are from the UK and used to run SCUBA Leeds, so they have a ton of experience. Safety is always the #1 priority, as it should be. I always felt safe, and knew they were never going to put me in a situation I didn't want to be in. They were so great that I convinced a friend of mine to come do a Discover SCUBA because I knew they would be the best people to introduce the hobby to him. If you are a beginner and nervous AT ALL, these are the people you want to dive with. Conversely if you are an expert, they cater to that extremely well too. For part of the time we had some instructors from Norway with over 600 dives with us, and they were very happy with the level of professionalism. That's saying something.
Overall, book with them. They deserve your business and you deserve their services. From the e-mailing back and forth to getting out of the water, they will take care of you. I'm already planning my trip to Malta next year, JIST to dive with them again.
