Administration and owner are super friendly. But the guides were terrible. Boat dive, first 2 dives the guide didn't point out anything. You could just tag along and try to find as much as possible yourself. But now it comes. I also did the third dive, with another guide. They decided to go Woodhouse Reef crossing over to Jackson, as we had perfect conditions and they can barely ever dive there. I had no idea that the flat inbetween was called Ras Goma and what it meant. Only later I found out that this was a super advanced dive, due to the very strong current. At the briefing the guide only pointed out that there was a current and we should pass over quickly, trying to keep up with him. I thought it would be a 2-3 minutes swim in the current, max 5 min.
I had intial problems with the mask, which is why I was already lower on air than usual, Woodhouse Reef was amazing, absolutely untouched. But then we started to cross over Ras Goma, which felt like a 10 min minimum swim against the current. The guide didn't turn around once! We all made it safely to the other side but I was super low on air. I showed him 50. Then 30. He still didn't go up. Reached almost 0. I had to swim up and show him, he was like "What happened, I thought you had 30!" Well guess what, I continued breathing! He gave me his Octopus and after a few more minutes sent me up ALONE!!! He kept diving down with the others for another 5 min or more. Really sad to say, I haven't found a good dive shop in Sharm yet. - via
