I can't recommend this tour enough. We did the Jordaan food tour with Gerard, who was absolutely lovely. We went to 6 different stops, all the while getting a crash course in the history of Amsterdam where we got to learn about the food scene, the architecture, history of Holland and Amsterdam, and various other interesting facts. Going on this tour deepened our admiration and interest in Amsterdam and made our stay that much more special. We also got to try a large variety of treats that represented the diverse cultural fabric of Amsterdam. Because Gerard has lived in Amsterdam his whole life and was also an English teacher in the city, his deep understanding of the culture and history made the tour even more interesting.
We had an amazing time. Thanks, Gerard!
Would highly recommend doing this tour at the beginning of the trip. That way you have a better understanding of the city, the cuisines, and can go back to the different stops. - via
