Just spent 6 days (12 dives) with ScubaCaribe and had a great time. The team are very friendly and run the dives very well and professionally. It's a small team on Sal but a big company in lots of locations elsewhere. ScubaCaribe is located on the beach just off Riu Fanana so only a 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The recipient opens at 8:30 and closes at 5:30. You can hire kit or take your own and store it at the dive centre between dives.
On dive days, meet at the dive centre at 8:30, check the kit (the team will assemble it for you) , dive brief, wetsuits on, then to the taxi boat. All the heavy stuff the team has already been moved to the main boat. Once at the dive site (normally less than 5 mins in the boat) roll back entry then to the front of the boat via the line, then down the shot line to the site.
There are about 10 sites ScubaCaribe visit, deepest dive first then shallow dive second. Surface intervals are short as it's only a small boat but the second dives I did were around 5 metres so basically a long safety stop. Lots of life and colour, plus a couple of ship wrecks (Caldeirinha at 3-5 metres so you can even snorkel it, Boris 30m, Santa Antao 11m)
Nitrox is available (was a free upgrade when I dived) but for most dives you don't need it.
Sal is in the Atlantic so the sea can be rough so you may change the planned dive site due to currents. Vis was normal about 15-20m but can drop to 10m at some locations. I dived in October and the sea was 27c, dived in 5mm wetsuit which was perfect.
Most days we did the two dives and we're back at the dive centre by about 12. A third dive is done in the afternoon if you want some more (or can't get out of bed early) - via
