Scuba diving has been on my bucket list for awhile now, right below getting a pilots license. I can afford scuba diving, I think. Anyways, my buddy is turning 40 and we’re going to Belize so a few others in the group gave me the kick in the pants I needed to finally go through with it. I procrastinated until a few days before classes were scheduled to start and because I’m a moron I showed up at their Willoughby location when they were closed. I saw some people in the back though, so I knocked on the door. Brenda answered and immediately let me in, she lied to me and told me it was no big deal and I totally wasn’t inconveniencing her, but I knew better. She then spent the next hour patiently explaining to me what was needed and showed me a ton of options. These people are passionate about scuba diving and it shows. When you love something you want others to have the best possible experience in hopes that they will love it like you do, that’s Brenda, Joe, Jim and Magic Mike. Joe was an excellent classroom instructor, great demeanor as a teacher. He’s patient and he knows his stuff, I look forward to diving with him one day. Slim Jim and Magic Mike were our instructors in the pool. They worked well together and made what could be a scary proposition for many people seem very approachable and fun. Scuba diving requires a healthy respect for safety and procedure and that was all covered in great detail and heavily emphasized, which is good, I’m not trying to drown down there. I cannot wait to be fully certified in Belize and finally experience firsthand the final frontier of our precious planet. Thanks to Just Add Water for making it all possible! - via
