Swim with seals, a mayor disappointment with ProDive. It was not my first swim with seals , even last year I did a swim in Plett thru a different provider, which I liked very much. But this one was a disaster. Our dive guide (f) was treating us as if we were in Kindergarten. She did not allow anyone of the group to separate from the group by more then 2 meters. This is in these rough waters difficult to maintain. I am a very skilled, safe and experienced snorkeler and I am able to assess the risks I take. Furthermore she kept the group most of the time around 5 -10 meters apart from the seals , and the visibility was very poor. On top of it, her sound was very commanding, completely inappropriate. The time close enough to the seals to really observe them and
take pictures was drastically reduced due to her inappropriate behavior.
And in total the time spent in the water was likely too short. We were back at the base after less then 75 minutes. Summary: Kindergarten approach applied by a rather rude dive guide , cutting short any options to appreciate the seals in the water. I strongly recommend to use other providers in Plett. Because swimming with seals in a good way is an exciting experience. - via
