I really enjoyed diving with this company! The adventure was to go out and see a shipwreck on a remote island capped by a lighthouse. The water had tremendous clarity and was a bit warmer than in California. There was really quite a lot of small fish, and yet a few larger groupers. Fish all around in massive flickering schools. The dive was deep, to almost 100 feet along steep cliffs. And at the bottom a huge hulking ship lay on its side. There were small tunnels to swim through made by the original masts and davits. In these areas there were bouquets of fuzzy blue and orange fan corals.
This was one of my most spectacular dives so far and I’m so glad to have committed myself to doing it!
As far as being an English speaking American… I was so pleased by the individual efforts made by the staff to help me technically but also to see that I enjoyed myself and felt welcome. The center was just about the best organized operation I have visited before and even had a kitchen with well prepared meals. There’s a few little differences between typical US dives, primarily in the use of metric, but the staff again helped with that. All in all a wonderful experience!
I also would like to reinforce the review said by Daniel before mine. What he said was very concisely worded and what I experienced. I’m glad for his review because it helped me to chose L’Atelier. Thanks! - via
