Joined a three tank dive to Balicasag Island today. The weather wasn’t in our favor as the winds picked up making water very choppy and rain and stormy skies darkened our optimistic moods. BDC has large dive boats, but unfortunately our boat had an issue with propeller and after our second dive a different boat was radioed in to help tow original dive boat back to Alona Beach. There was a bit of chaos and poor communication as divers were being told to swim back and forth between the two boats while the crew decided how to handle carrying on with the third dive and transfer gear. I ultimately decided to opt out of third dive as the process was taking too long to sort out and I had other obligations that evening. I was shuttled back to the dive shop on a smaller boat with a few other divers. But when I checked back in at the dive shop to return wetsuit (rest of gear still on boat) and tried to explain why I opting out of the last dive (not looking for a refund) I found the staff at dive shop couldn’t be bothered and couldn't care less about the scenario. Very indifferent responses. The guides on the boat were great and were trying their best, including my guide Edgar. I was concerned a bit about not having full tanks on the two dives I did. Both dives I had a starting tank of 190 and 180 bar and when I mentioned it to crew they said I was good on my air consumption so I needn’t worry. Not a great day of diving water and visibility wise which can’t be helped, but thought dive shop could tighten up their operation. - via
