My boyfriend and I took the discovery dive package. Which starts with some lessons on the pool and is followed by a first open water dive.
I would not recommend this package to real beginners though. You just join a group of experienced divers and do not get any personal guidance during the open water dive. I was a bit overwhelmed by the idea to immediately go to 14 meters and to stay under for 1 hour. And when I tried 2 times to dive but wanted to get back up, the guide simply sent me back to the boat. If it is the first time you dive in the sea, I would expect a more patient guide and some real tips and tricks on how to do it better. This was unfortunately not the case at all! Due to this “rushy” approach, I lost my confidence and decided to skip the second dive.
Another issue we had was that my boyfriend’s equipment was broken. He ran out of air but the pressure indicator did not show this. The guide first wanted to blame my boyfriend but in the end had to admit the issue.
No compensation or sorry was offered after this bad experience..
PS: the guides are nice and professional but just need to keep in mind which are the pro’s and which are the first-timers - via
