I came to Egypt for a diving holiday. Originally I could have used nine days to do the Open Water Diver license and fundives. Unfortunately, a cold made the start a bit difficult for me. I arrived on Friday, took the weekend to recover and felt good on Monday so I started the OWD. Everything went well on Monday. After the first dive on Tuesday, I unfortunately had to realize that my cold was not completely over and that I had problems with my ears and pressure equalization.
At short notice, Svenja organized that I could take a 2-day break and moved another course forward. On Thursday afternoon it continued and I was able to successfully finish the OWD on Friday. Ahmed was my instructor for the course. I have rarely met such a balanced, patient and funny person. Also, when something wasn't working underwater and I tended to fidget and get nervous, Ahmed put my hands together and motioned for me to breathe calmly. He never tired of repeating this procedure.
I then spent a total of three days on the boat. There I dived with Ahmed and Marwan as guides. Both really great people. I felt very safe and comfortable diving with them. Both are extremely attentive and always ready to help.
Both the boat crew and the crew on land are always in the background and without expecting it, a helping hand is already there. Incredibly attentive and at the same time very reserved.
The following Monday, I couldn't take part in any dives because there was no registration for one and the other had 50 dives as a requirement. Without further ado, Frank, the dive center manager, made it possible for me to complete the Nitrox course instead. A kind-hearted person who always takes the time for you.
I am very grateful to have done my OWD in such a great diving school.

Extra Divers in Port Ghalib war für mich ein tolles Erlebnis. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Flexibilität und die unglaublich netten Mitarbeiter:innen der Tauchbasis. Ein wunderbares Team, was Hand in Hand mit den Kund:innen zusammenarbeitet.
Ich bin für einen Tauchurlaub nach Ägypten gekommen. Ursprünglich hätte ich neun Tage nutzen können um den Open Water Diver Tauchschein zu machen und Fundives. Leider wurde mir der Start durch eine Erkältung etwas erschwert. Ich kam Freitags an, nahm mir das Wochenende zum auskurieren und fühlte mich Montags gut, so dass ich dann mit dem OWD startete. Montag lief soweit alles gut. Nach dem ersten Tauchgang am Dienstag musste ich leider feststellen, dass meine Erkältung doch noch nicht ganz vom Tisch war und ich daher Probleme mit meinen Ohren und dem Druckausgleich hatte.
Kurzfristig organisierte Svenja, dass ich 2 Tage Pause machen konnte und verlegte einen anderen Kurs nach vorne. Am Donnerstag ging es Nachmittags weiter und ich konnte Freitag erfolgreich den OWD beenden. Ahmed war mein Instructor für den Kurs. Ich habe selten einen so ausgeglichenen, geduldigen und lustigen Menschen kennengelernt. Auch wenn unter Wasser etwas nicht funktionierte und ich dazu neigte wild rumzuzappeln und nervös zu werden, schob Ahmed meine Hände zusammen und bedeutete mir ruhig zu Atmen. Er wurde auch nicht müde diese Prozedur zu wiederholen.
Anschließend verbrachte ich insgesamt drei Tage auf dem Boot. Dort tauchte ich mit Ahmed und Marwan als Guide. Beide ganz tolle Menschen. Ich habe mich beim Tauchen sehr sicher und wohl mit ihnen gefühlt. Beide sind extrem aufmerksam und stets zur Hilfe bereit.
Sowohl die Bootscrew, als auch die Crew an Land, sind stets im Hintergrund und ohne, dass man es erwartet ist schon eine helfende Hand da. Unglaublich aufmerksam und dabei sehr zurückhaltend.
Am Montag darauf, konnte ich an keinem Tauchgang teilnehmen, da es für den einen keine Anmeldung gab und der andere 50 Tauchgänge als Voraussetzung hatte. Kurzerhand ermöglichte mir Frank, der Tauchbasisleiter, den Nitrox Kurs stattdessen zu absolvieren. Ein herzensguter Mensch, der sich für einen jederzeit die Zeit nimmt.
Ich bin sehr dankbar in einer so tollen Tauchschule meinen OWD gemacht zu haben.
