My sister and I and our husbands drove to Aktun Chen today and really enjoyed our time there. Jaime was a wonderful host and guide through the amazing and beautiful cave tour. We learned about Mayan traditional names and cultures surrounding the cenotes and caves. They supplied us with helmets, much appreciated as parts of the cave tour requires ducking under the stalagmites and stalagtites. There was good lighting and Jaime assisted us in pictures! Back at the reception, there was a small museum/zoo area for rescued animals. We were able to view at our leisure and took pictures also. We then drove to a cenote on the site to swim and snorkel. Cenaro was very helpful and toured us through the cenote, some parts open to above but mostly covered. Lots of light and some fish, mostly catfish and small grouper. The water is crystal clear! We were given life vests and/or belts and offered snorkeling gear but we had our own. There were lockers for your valuables included at both locations and change rooms. After the cenote, we saw wild monkeys and deer on our way back to our car! Great visit! - via google
