I received my Open Water Certificate from Alton's and had a fantastic time. My class was small, there were only 3 of us, and Pete, my instructor knew exactly when to be patient and understanding and when to push me to achieve my potential. He also has a pretty wicked sense of humour. The equipment is all very well maintained and safety is always everyone's number 1 priority. The Tipsy Turtle provided a great lunch and breakfast for a very reasonable price. We stayed in the free accommodations, they were clean and simple my only complaint would be the bed, it could do with being a few inches thicker. The staff, everyone from the ladies who did the cleaning to the owners Lisa and Alton to the manager Steve, were all very nice, friendly and super considerate. All and all I would highly recommend Alton's to anyone who is seeking a dive shop on Utila. - via
