We had a wonderful experience with Islamorada Dive Shop. My daughter and I were scuba certified almost 2 years ago and haven’t been diving much at all since I was having ear issues. I explained our situation to the folks at IDS and they recommended a pool refresher and afternoon dive, both with a private instructor.
Our private instructor was Devon and he reached out to us the night before with the details. He was the perfect instructor for us. He was patient and explained things well and thoroughly. We are still very much beginners and he never made us feel uncomfortable asking basic questions.
TBH, I was using this attempt to help me decide if I should keep at diving or give it up because of my ear and buoyancy issues. Devon’s patience and calm manner helped me overcome both those issues. There’s something about his manner that helped us hear and understand his explanations of things that never quite clicked in the past. We never felt rushed and that was so important for us to gain confidence. Thank you all for a great day! - via
