Dream- yesterday I became PADI certified as an open water diver. 3 days in a row of classes, 4 open water dives.
This was my 3rd attempt. I have MS and no one wanted to take time and work with me. First with scuba quest here in the Cape. The men behind the counter couldn’t have been more unfriendly if they tried. One took me aside and said I was “too fat” and “too sick”.
Then I went to Pete’s in Ft myers. He was kinder and tried, but in a class of over 20 people he couldn’t attend to my needs and I didn’t make it.
Here, a couple years later, I had been talking to someone who recommended Diver’s Paradise in Key Biscayne. 3 hours from my house. The owner there worked with me in ALL ways possible. And booked me a private instructor.
This past weekend was my chance. MS has taken a lot from me, I can’t ride motorcycles anymore, or gallop horses etc. My work life etc
So i drove over there and stayed in a cheap little hotel and ate snacks Gwendelyn Yukiko Garrison made for me because we area little short on money at this time. Drank plenty of Gatorade, and guess what - PAdi certified. - via
