I encourage potential customers to take their business elsewhere!
We specifically went to La Digue for 6 days to finish our PADI open water course. What a mistake that was!
In the beginning there were no answers to any of the emails I sent. Only through WhatsApp did I get a response.
The shop and I, agreed on a date range that we would be on the island, this was confirmed in our chat (ca. 90 days before our arrival) .
I sent one or two follow up questions to the shop, (like should we bring anything specific for the course), again no answer.
We arrive at the island, but the shop is closed for the day. Next day I write again on WhatsApp and arrange to meet same eavning.
At the meeting we get an excuse about the boat being broken and some family issues.
They promised to come with a recommendation ASAP.
Late day 3 we get a recommendation to try Trek Divers on the island. We had already contacted them in the morning, they were sweet to try and fit us in, but were fully booked on such short notice.
We also tried two shops on Praslin, they could take us in but the transfer ruined it for us. Thank you White Tip and Octpus Diving for fast response and flexibility.
We had planned much of our trip around getting the certificate and doing some of our first dives.
We could have tried to make changes to our travel plans, if we were had gotten some information before arrrival.
