We did a day trip of snorkeling and visiting Yelapa. Everyone was very nice and it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately we got left behind in Yelapa and had to find out own way back to PV. We were not told a specific time to meet and so we were waiting on lounge chairs on the beach for the guides to walk around and tell us when to go. We were in the general lounge chair area with everyone else, so not off on our own at all. Somehow they missed us and departed without us. No one in my group saw any crew member walking around at all so no one told us when to go.
I spoke with one man on the beach who called me over after seeing me and asked me if I was on that particular boat. He was having a text conversation with someone on the boat because he showed me the conversation. Someone from the boat had sent him our photos and told him to look out for us. He said the boat had already left. I asked this person if he could call them for us multiple times, and he said no each time and that we had missed our chance. I was very confused why he would call me over, show me that he is in communication with someone on the boat, and then say no when I ask him to call them for us. I’m not sure who this person was, but they were in communication with someone on our boat, and told me he would not help me. I’m not sure if he was trying to scare me or make me feel bad, but it was very strange to be met with this attitude when he knows I am stranded and he clearly has the phone number of someone on our boat.
After we had managed to get back much later in the night, still no one from the company had called or emailed us to make sure we were okay. I did email the company to let them know we were OK and asked about refund options since we had been abandoned and not given transportation back to PV. They were quick to try and place all the blame on us and not give any refund. The crew members were nice, but they completely messed up by leaving us behind far from Puerto Vallarta and the company did not care about that at all. This company seems to be mainly concerned with placing blame on us instead of showing genuine concern or owning that they made a mistake. - via
