I was taken on my first dive and told not to wear my mask or snorkel by one of the instructors until after we reached the point it was too deep to touch bottom. I After entry swimming past the waves I was splashed in the face and could not catch my breath. The dive was aborted. I attempted to use the rig for breathing however I was choking. I complained as this was supposed to be a private lesson. It clearly states in the PADI class to always have your mask on and snorkel or reg in your mouth while in the water. I was not refunded for the class. Only partial $200. The instructor made it sound like he saved me instead of putting me in danger. I was traumatized and am not in any hurry to finish the class anywhere else. Very scary and unprofessional. - via
