We came down to Bira on a weekend without a booking and most places were full, but Bira Dive Camp had a room. Pros: the staff is very friendly, the breakfasts are good, easy direct access to Bara Beach. Cons: 450k/night for such a basic cabin was not a good value. On Saturday night at 7pm the LOUDEST karaoke I’ve ever heard (and I’ve lived in China) started and lasted until 10pm. When it started up again at 7am the next morning we walked down to Cosmos and got a much nicer and cheaper room. Dive Camp did not offer to refund our unused night, but it was worth it to move. Recommendations: book ahead on weekends, choose Bara Beach for lively fun / Tajung Bira for quiet relaxing, avoid Dive Camp unless you’re there for the karaoke. - via
