My partner and I did the PADI Open Water Diving course at Haliotis on Madeira. Diving felt quite out of my comfort zone and I wasn't really sure if diving was for me. At our first meeting with our diving instructor Victor, I mentioned this for transparency. Over the next few days, he transformed me into a big fan of diving. During the pool sessions, I was able to get comfortable with the equipment and breathing techniques. Thanks to Victor's patience, I was able to perform the practical exam quite confidently and am looking forward to my next diving adventures.
I can heavily recommend Haliotis on Madeira to learn diving!
The diving school is located nearby the hotel pool which makes logistics super simple. When it's rather cold, you will love the warm showers! :-) The diving spots at the shore are just a few minutes away. - via
