Took a very expensive 3 hour lesson here 1/21/2024. Instructor started by reviewing my gear to make sure it was well set up which I appreciated the most in this lesson. However No headsets/bbtalk radio/communication devices were provided for the water instruction/teaching, so communication was extremely limited since we were too far for communicating most of the lesson. He was trying to communicate over big distances by yelling what to do. Which I did not hear/understand in heavy winds and his very thick accent. The instructor was very nice but English was definitely not his first language and he was clearly a good kiteboarder but was not great at explaining concepts in English and a few times was not able to find the right words to explain the concepts or what I needed to do. Some people are great at doing, but not every great athlete is automatically a great teacher (or at least in English, maybe he’s a great teacher in Spanish). Beautiful spot for kite boarding. I would recommend pairing students with teachers based on what their native languages are, this was not at all worth it for me. Maybe it would have been ok if the school had provided waterproof radio/bbtalk devices like other schools/friends of mine have. disappointed in the lesson overall. - via
