Wow, a trip of a lifetime. I recently visited during the last week of July 2018. It pains me to hear about the hardships going on the country and I pray it has a peaceful ending. Mike was amazing. He set up a reliable ride and confirmed the pickup with Alex as soon as I was in the car. We went straight to the coast and I did not encounter any road blacks or troubles. Things on the coast were very quiet and tranquil. With the primary mission being surfing, I had come to the right place. Crowds were minimal and there were many times where I was the only surfer in the water at world class spots. The lodge is set up to give you a personalized experience with Mike and the crew matching your skill level to the conditions and your personal appetite. Mike was was extremely thorough in helping set up travel options that would allow safe passage in the event political conditions changed; charter flights, taxis to Costa Rica, etc. in the event they were needed. I had absolutely no problems riding to and from Managua and got to experience the surf trip of a lifetime; surfing eight (8) different spots with unheard of crowd sizes as in zero people out! The locals can use the business and you will be rewarded with a surfers paradise. Having Mike do everything within his power to ensure a safe trip made it an easy decision and I was rewarded with a trip of a lifetime. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to fulfill your surfing dreams.
