We stayed 5 nights at Alila Manggis and was incredibly happy with the service!
AMBIANCE
The design of the whole resort is really beautiful! Upon our entrance, we already felt the nature vibes. Clean & calming with lots of white and natural design
ROOM
The room was nicely designed. It also has a nice balcony with a day bed and beautiful view of the grass & pool. Only downside is water pressure from our shower was weak so it took a while to shower and room size is a bit small with no work desk (but I guess you dont go to this resort to work), but good enough for us since i just worked at the Seasalt restaurant
SERVICE
This is where Alila Manggis truly shines. Since there are only a few rooms in this resort, everyone was so nice. Special shoutout to Pushpita (front desk manager). She delivered incredible service. From the moment we arrived, she had a huge smile and was very welcoming. She was very nice to us and made our stay extra special. We will truly miss her! Muli from Seasalt restaurant was also good to us consistently.
FOOD
Now, this is where we were disappointed. We dined breakfast here everyday. The good things were: Nasi goreng (chicken fried rice), the croissant with omelette, their fruit juices and "elixirs of life", and also all pastries (croissant, muffin, carrot cake was amazing)
The downsides of the restaurant: Nasi goreng lacked chicken, there were only a few pieces of chicken in the dish. Out of all the bowls, only the granola was good, the rest had weird flavor/ingredient combinations. They also only put 1 strawberry cut in 3-4 slices for each dessert and it seemed cheap. They also need to put more avocado in the avocado toast. Because the avocado layer is very thin and the bread needs to be toasted (no one wants a soggy avocado toast)
There was also daily afternoon tea which came with 1 sweet & 1 salty snack, which was nice. Only downside during this time is there was the person who is incharge of always promoting their paid activities. The guy was nice and he was doing his job, but we just felt uncomfortable being sold to everyday during afternoon tea. Other than that, we enjoyed our daily afternoon tea.
In summary:
-excellent service (especially Pushpita)
-relaxing ambiance
-need to focus on improving recipes/food at Seasalt restaurant
-need to lower prices for activities, since they are too high
-the "free" photoshoot needs to indicate that there is only 1 picture that is free and we have to pay for the rest, as the card they give out is a bit misleading saying its a 1 hour "free" photoshoot

Discovered this spa on Google Maps since we wanted to experience authentic Balinese massage. They offer free pickup in Manggis so the owner himself, Andre picked us up. We were surprised that this spa is just outside of Alila Manggis which is so convenient for us.
The owner was very nice and the therapists Mang Sri & Tami had a welcoming smile. I decided with the Balinese massage and my girl tried the aromatherapy. First they give you cold towels that smell so fresh, perfect for hot face and hands. Then a quick foot bath with flower petals.
Then finally to the room where we had the massage. We enjoyed our massage and were very relaxed that my girl wanted another hour. I said its enough for today, but then next day we tried the shama-shama where 2 therapists work on you. It was good of course but for the price, we would have preferred just the normal massage but more time.
On our third day, we had the organic facial + hair & scalp treatment. My face and my girlfriends really felt good and looked really fresh and young after the facial, though I'm not sure how long it will last vs chemical based treatments. The hair & scalp treatment is highly recommended after being sunburnt. Our hair feel so healthy and restored with moisture after that
