It was ok. It is what it is- an artificial ocean wave. However it is smack dab in Texas, so that’s pretty cool. It was a little pricey, and a little crowded. I rode the middle wave, not the reef wave, and wish I had tried the reef wave. It’s all whitewater if you don’t hit the reef wave. I’m not an experienced surfer, but I have surfed some in the ocean, which was more fun. But where else can you catch a wave that isn’t at the ocean? We got there an hour early, and had about 30 minutes of time to kill. On really busy days it’s probably safer to get there an hour early. A day after I surfed, I developed a severe eye infection in one eye, which is a major bummer. Did the water cause it? I can’t say for sure, but it’s enough to make me not want to go back out of water safety concerns. It may be up to county standards, but that’s not enough for me. - via google
