Where do I even start - 1. Extortionate taxi fares (USD 20 for a 200m / 2mins drive from the port), 2. Rude checkin staff, 3.Mosquitoes in the room that didn't get fully dealt with, 4."complimentary" water in the room is basically a jug filled with water (not safe to drink especially since on couple of occasions we found mosquitoes in that water), 5. Do not book tours or taxis through them, they are super overpriced (see point 1). They try to justify by saying "that's what locals would pay", which is total nonsense. You're better off contacting taxi providers directly via Google or better yet, hire a car. 6. Front desk staff don't appear to either be up to date with restaurant offerings or just don't communicate with the restaurant. On two occasions we booked dinner in their "fine dining restaurant" only to be told (once we got there) that it's buffet only. We double confirmed before going back for the second time, but it was the same story again and we were offered the room service menu (limited menu to what they advertise online). Not even sure why this restaurant badges itself as a "fine dining restaurant". 7. Jacuzzi by the pool area was dirty and didn't work. the staff couldn't care less when we asked for help. 8. We ordered breakfast in the room one morning (just couple of pastries and a coffee), it took them 45mins to bring it to the room even though they were "quiet" and on two occasions (may be 20mins and then 30mins from when we placed the order) we called to check where the food was, we got told both times "it's on its way". Clearly they were just lying. We were in a rush this morning but absolutely didn't expect a 45mins wait. 9.The "health and wellbeing area" leads you to a roof top (on the 1st floor of the new wing) with no security or safety barriers. Essentially accident waiting to happen.
The hotel is trying to be a 4/5 star hotel but needs to heavily invest in their staff, hygiene & safety. At best this hotel is 2 star. - via
