We had booked tickets for the Thames Christmas dinner party on 11/12/2022 and a few days before they sent me an email saying that the party will not take place on that day. I visited their website to apply for a refund and there was no such option anywhere. I could only change the date and on all available dates the price was much more expensive. From £150 per pair on 11/12/2022, it cost us £200 per pair on 10/12/2022.
We arrived at Westminster Pier at 6.45pm as stated in the confirmation email and there was no one in charge. There were only individual travelers wondering if they were in the right place.
After the scheduled departure time (19.00) a lady came and checked our tickets. Later the boat came and we boarded for the cruise.
The boat has 3 rows of large tables with a capacity of 10 people per table. Totally awkward for a couple as we were sharing the same table with another unknown couple.
The cruise did not last 4 hours as stated. Departed at 7.15pm from Westminster Pier, stopped at Cherry Garden Pier for an hour and returned to Westminster Pier at 10.45pm for a net cruise duration of 2.5 hours.
About the food, we were served what was mentioned in the menu but the food was average.
About the atmosphere, the dj was quite good but the venue was not the right one as there was too much noise and it gave us a headache. It had nothing to do with a romantic dinner, as you couldn't talk to your partner because of the commotion.
In conclusion, it is an experience only for tourists, but the cruise schedule does not match the reality and without refund option. - via
