They arranges two tours for us, Batur and Agung.
Batur was an easy walk, 90 minutes up 45 minutes down. The guide wanted to stop every ten to fifteen minutes but soon realized we just walk. We stopped at the summit for twenty minutes.
Agung was a more difficult trek. Our guide was excellent and highly recommended. Tough overnight ascent. Long route was ok up with clear weather. The final 300m got misty and the wind increased. No sunrise ?? just fog. The long descent was made worse by fairly persistent rain which left us soaking wet. We had an amazing guide, Kariana (+62 878-6062-9285). The other guides seem to go out too fast for their guests, with the inevitable consequences. You need to set the pace. Slow and steady gets you there! The timings are off. We stopped two times on the ascent. For ten minutes and then forty minutes waiting for the right time for sunrise and then 20 mins on the summit. Overall 5.30 up and 5.00 down. - via
