While in Los Barriles for a week's vacation in January 2024, I spent 8 hours over 4-days taking lessons from Dante and Shy (one of Dante's trusted instructors) to improve on my beginner level skills.
Right from my initial contact with Dante via email, Dante was prompt in returning all of my communications in a very timely manner when confirming our lesson schedule, and he would check in with me each day on when the wind would be best for our lessons.
I feel he runs a professional school, offers a good learning environment, uses quality gear, and he provided me with an excellent kiteboarding experience while in Los Barriles. His location on the beach is great too! Both Dante and Shy were awesome instructors and nice, genuine people to chat with. They definitely are passionate about their sport and in also wanting to make sure visitors to Los Barriles and the area enjoy themselves; they provided us with numerous recommendations on places to eat, and things to do and see during the days not spent with them on the water.
In regard to their abilities as instructors, I would definitely reach out to Dante and his team again in the future for additional lessons. I felt that they helped me to improve during my time spent with them after having not kiteboarded since 2018. Dante is a passionate teacher offering easy to understand instructions, along with patience and support to help anyone get better at kiteboarding.
I highly recommend taking lessons from Dante and his school, Kiteboarding Baja, based on my recent experience with them, and I will be back again (hopefully soon). - via
