I was snorkeling in the sea at my hotel Palmera. Great hotel by the way. :)
Saw many different fish and rocks.
At the information shop beautiful underwater photos. I've had the first scuba diving lesson a few times and my wife has never. So nice to do together i thought.
At the information store she told me that you got a discount if you did two dives in a row and then you could do the second dive from a boat. My wife thought it was exciting so thought let's just do it once.
Arrived at the diving school received a good explanation and the gear was neatly in order.
But when we were in the water, my wife thought it was too exciting during the instructions and unfortunately didn't dare anymore. Of course you will not get your money back. I understand that's life. I went anyway. The dive instructor certainly tried his best to find underwater life. Because there was so little to see. Because he swam in front and was searching. Didn't he realize that one of the woman's flippers had gone out. So I thought I'd swim back to get it and put it back on her.
Not that it was a dangerous situation but still a bit strange that if something happens the instructor swims in front. I have no experience in this which is safest but I would swim next to your students or something. No idea
Once on land we had to wait for the transfer which came 4 hours later. I thought since my wife didn't dive I might get a discount on the second dive in hopes of seeing more sealive from the boatdive. So who doesn't dare, who doesn't win. But unfortunately no discount on the second dive. In fact, what they said was that they didn't do a second dive from the boat today. Okay, go shopping. At 15:30 waiting for the transfer. Fifteen minutes later we were told that the driver was a little later because he still had to come back. It turned out that there was indeed a second dive and the dive instructor on that boot was our driver.??
( Little strange in my opinion)
The other couple was waiting neatly, they were not informed that the transfer took so long, they thought they would be picked up after the first dive. Finiched at 12:00 And when she heard that a second dive was possible. They were annoyed that they had not been informed about this. Because they would have liked to do a second dive.
All whit all, good for a first lesson. But don't expect beautiful underwater life.aa the picture Show in the information shop.
Later in the car the driver explains that the second dive was 25 m not for beginners. Oke now i understand. There was no instructor at the moment too stay whit me at the depth of 8-12 meters. Would by nice if they had told me at the moment.
So long story short. Good gear. Good instructor. Less fish. - via
