Visited Salina Grande for surfing. There is not much around. Every place seems to be closed, left behind, empty. Only one restaurant on the whole Beach front, all dirt road.
Found this place by accident. Gate in the front was closed, no sign in the front, we walked around from the beachside to get in and find someone working there. 55 Dollar for the rooms close to the beach. 50 Dollar for the rooms close to the road with AC. Since we try to travel cheap (seems impossible in Nicaragua if u want to stay close by the beach) we took the cheap room by the road. Spiders, ants, ant nests all over the shower curtain, sink not working, shower head fell off. The place itself is very beautiful, palmtrees, pool, flowers all over, nice area in the shade to hang out, many waves, awesome breaks with noone in. But for being so remote and empty from tourits very much overpriced, the breakfast price just left us speechless. Very bitter-sweet experience all together. Too bad for this beautiful place but won't come back. - via
