We had an overall good experience here, but with some things to note. The transfer by taxi to the harbour went really smooth, then the boat&gear were ready for us. The dives were in really nice places (Palancar+Tormentos) and the master diver seemed well experienced and also helped me out at some point. On the boat we received cake, watermelon, water.
In my opinion this place seemed good for advanced divers but not so beginner-friendly: us two did the OWD just weeks ago, and we got to dive with some experienced American divers - so there was no briefing or any concrete plan ("everyone to the bottom!"); and there was not possible to discuss much on that boat. In the shop we had been told that we would dive up to around 20 metres (we have only the OWD/18 metres), then we actually ended up going to 25. This was fine, we didn't have any issues with the depth, but we only found out about this when we were at the sea bottom. If I'm not mistaken, there was one master diver for 8 people diving, plus one boat captain who was helping out on the boat.
Actual issues: the equipment we rented was quite worn out and also when we were in the boat we had to work on fixing some stuff by one of the tanks (luckily we noticed the leaking). Also other people pointed out issues with tanks. I was then seeing in the water how the tube connected to my first stage was leaking air.
One of the American divers had a more serious issue caused by equipment, so she didn't want to dive for the second time.
Another thing: we paid quite much for the two dives, apparently more than the average in Cozumel. It was quite americanized by this center: values were in feet, prices in dollars, with tipping and so on.
As a comparison, few days ago we had a two-tank day in Mahahual and it was like from a totally different world (highly professional and explaining stuff+newest gear+them double-checking all our equipment in front of us). They also said that they don't mix up groups (beginners, advanced, photographers), which seemed about right for me. This all was for 70% of the price we paid by 3P in Cozumel... - via
