I have yesterday returned from a wonderful holiday to Bali, however everyone I talk to about Bali mentions that the polution with trash in the beautiful nature is a big problem. On every trip we made on Bali we saw piles of trash - plastic - paper - building materials just thrown into the nature alongside the roads or into the rivers. Bali economy is depending on tourism - but the tourists will quickly disappear if this is not solved now. The city of Ubud had the same problem - nowhere to throw the trash - so it is thrown on the streets or into the nature. Some try to burn the trash - but is is smelly and inefficient. Each city should create a small waste management unit that could burn the waste efficiently and create electricity from the heat it generates. - via
