I did two days of diving at the Catalina's, one with OceanConnect and the other with an operator that picked up by boat but is based outside of Potrero. The day with OceanConnect was amazing, far better. From the care and treatment of guests, to the attention to detail and education about the diving, to the exceptional DM/Instructor Lele (such a great guy!) and clear committment to safety. Many of these things I might not have appreciated quite so much without the second day of diving, which was...poorly run, unfortunately. The difference in cost is minimal (diving is expensive, let's face it). My feeling is that you will have a much better experience with OC (example: with the other operator, the DM swam over a shark and didn't see/point it out to the group, and on the second dive the group of mostly Open Waters was accidentally led on a deco dive...yikes!). Not to mention the good vibes from the cool community work OceanConnect is doing...highly recommend! - via
