This place is awesome!
I wanted to try scuba diving for a while now, so I went to this place and signed up for the Discovery Scuba Dive. I'm glad I did.
Right off the bat, Michelle at the front desk was very helpful with answering all my questions the day before, and on the day of the dive, got me sorted quickly. Next thing I know, I'm gearing up and heading to the banka boat. Since I was the only one doing the Discovery dive, it was just me, dive master Sean, captain Pablo (aka Captain Chick Boy *I gave him that nickname*), and first mate Talisoy.
At the first spot, and with onshore instructions and on-the-boat guidance, I was in the water. My first attempt at scuba gave me a bit of a panic, as my breathing was too rapid. Thankfully we were in standing water, and after some additional coaching from Sean, we were re-submerged. I finally found my bearings and slowed my breathing down. After some more course correction, the second dive (at a wreck no less) was even smoother. It really helped to have Sean guide me through, as he really took the time to listen and give me tips and encouragement.
Once getting better acquainted with scuba diving, it felt a bit more natural to be underwater. It was even an added bonus to see the captain swim with us.
Overall, I had a great time with the guys! Of course I've got quite a lot to additionally learn, but with the introduction to the sport along with this great crew, now I definitely want to get my PADI certification. - via
