This dive shop is wonderful! My wife and I had planned a trip to New Zealand and Australia, and I needed to finish my 4 Open Water Dives to complete my Open Water Certification. The stars aligned with Aotearoa Dive because they were able to accommodate our very specific dates perfectly, were willing to finish my instruction as an international referral diver, and had the teaching approach I was looking for. From the moment we walked into the shop (and before via email as well), Renee and Bev made us feel right at home - offering us coffee & tea, easy conversation, thorough introductions, and info about their shop and mission. My previous theory & pool sessions with a different dive shop were a bit rocky, and I was pretty nervous to finish my open water dives. But Renee was super supportive and really brought out my confidence when diving. For my wife and I, Renee also went above and beyond by guiding us around Rotorua as we drove to the dive sites, explaining the history of the area and people, and even packing us homemade lunch! Bev gave us excellent recommendations for places to eat, things to do, etc - making us feel like super special international family. Their dive services & equipment were top of the line, their shop is clean & tidy, and we had absolutely everything we needed. Totally trust them.
