Scuba Diving with Castaway Divers on Koh Lipe was a monumental; life-changing adventure. And, it wasn't exclusively the enchantment of being underwater, observing the fascinating aquatic plants and animals, or the adrenaline rush post-dive. The most incredible part of this adventure is the connection that was built and the energy shared between the staff and me during my experience.
Being a newly certified diver, I was nervous. However, the moment I met Elsa (my guide) my nervous energy dissipated and in exchange transformed into excitement, and ease. I felt safe with Elsa as my guide. She made me feel heard and cared for during our dives. Additionally, Elsa taught me many things. She is an incredible teacher. I ended up diving for the entire 4 days I spent on the island. The experience was that good.
Another thing that I liked about Castaway Divers is that they book small groups only while using a long-tail boat. In my opinion, a small group enables the experience to be safe and personable. While on the long tail boat, I was able to interact with Paul who is a dive instructor. He was completing the last day of an open water course with a new diver. I'm not going to lie, I was envious of the man who was certifying with Paul as he was getting a private lesson while being certified.
Post-dives, we would all come back to the shop on the beach and eat a lovely lunch together. While in the shop, I interacted with Chris who works in the shop during the day. I enjoyed the many conversations we shared throughout my stay. I can't say enough good things about my experience so go check them out for yourself.
In the end, I am beyond grateful for the experience I had with Castaway Divers and would hands-down dive with them if I was given the opportunity. - via
